What's the difference between an Extension and a Renewal?

eaDocX Standard and Floating Licences are perpetual but come with a subscription period giving access to Support and code updates for 12 or 36 months after purchase.

They can then be extended or renewed for 12 or 36 months at a time.

Log in to check your Licence Subscription status.

Note: Group licence keys are valid for 12 months only. The support for these cannot be extended or renewed. To continue using a Group licence, a new licence must be purchased.

A support subscription can be extended any time up to 2 months after the existing expiry date.

The extended period of support will continue from the existing expiry date.

Subscriptions can be renewed between 2 and 12 months after the expiry date. The renewed support period will start from the date when the renewal is bought.

For example

The subscription for a licence bought with 12 months support on 1st January 2018 will expire on 31st December 2018.

The subscription can be extended at any time before 28th February 2019.

Or it can be renewed between 1st March and 31st December 2019.

After January 1st 2020, the licence support cannot be renewed.

The small print:

If a customer with multiple licences chooses to extend or renew only one of those licences, that extension/renewal permits only a single user to use the updated eaDocX code version. Other licences bought by the customer must remain at the version downloaded before their support subscription expired.

Downloading and sharing the updated version of eaDocX amongst several licences/users is not allowed.

eaDocX monitors licences and versions in use for fraud prevention. If our fraud detection software discovers the use of updated code by licences that are not eligible to use it, then those licences will be permanently disabled.
